Natalya Reznik is the artist born in Russia. Since 2011 she is based in Germany (Fürth-Erlangen). She studied design and philosophy in Russia, then art history and photography in Germany (Ostkreuzschule der Fotografie in Berlin). She works with photography, drawing, installation. Her projects explore political and social issues of Soviet and Post-soviet Russia (emigration, problems of elderly people, politics of Russia in the Soviet time). Some of her works are focused on her private family issues (Alzheimer disease of her grandmother and divorce of the artist's parents).
In 2014 Natalya published her first photo book “Secrets” reflecting her own experience of emigration from Russia to Germany (all the portraits in the book were made in Fürth, Germany). Her second photo book “Looking for my father” (2016) consists of the mix of real photographs from her childhood and collages. The photo books have been shown at the exhibitions in galleries/museums and during festivals around the world. Natalya’s project “Looking for my father” is in the collection of PERMM Museum of contemporary art (Perm, Russia).
